Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee
Pride in being the "Best in the Business" is a long-time IBEW tradition. Training for Local 219 follows the curriculum of the Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee for the Electrical Industry (JATC). In addition to training apprentices and providing upgrading training for Intermediate Journeymen, Local 219 JATC also provides Journeyman classes for continuing education.
This Committee will accept applications for apprenticeship from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time on the first working Monday of each month at 205 East Flesheim Street, Iron Mountain, Michigan.
All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to qualify for an interview.
RESIDENT Dickinson, Iron, Houghton, Baraga,
Ontonagon, Gogebic and Keweenaw
Counties, Michigan. Aurora,
Commonwealth, Fern, Florence,
Homestead and Niagara Townships,
Wisconsin.
AGE: Must be the minimum age of 18 years at
time of interview. Applications will be
accepted at age 17. A copy of Birth
Certificate is required.
EDUCATION: High School Graduate - one year of
Algebra, or have a GED with one year of
Algebra. Transcript required.
APTITUDE TEST: A aptitude test administered by the
Committee will be required.
PHYSICAL CONDITION: Applicants must not be color blind.
Each applicant must meet all basic requirements to be eligible for interview. All applications will be received without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age or sex. Applications that are selected may be required to pass a drug test and physical exam as a condition of employment.
